A Thoughtful, Collaborative Approach to Design

Designing a home is both deeply personal and inherently complex. My role is to guide you through that process with clarity, creativity, and care—transforming ideas into spaces that feel effortless, intentional, and enduring. Every project is unique, but my  approach is grounded in a clear framework that allows for both structure and flexibility. I listen closely, design thoughtfully, and remain engaged every step of the way.

Discovery & Vision

Each project begins with understanding you. I take the time to learn how you live, what inspires you, and what you want your home to feel like—not just how it should look. Through conversations, site visits, and exploration of your ideas, I begin to define the vision and possibilities for your project. This phase lays the foundation for everything that follows.

Concept Design

With a clear vision in place, I begin translating ideas into form. I explore spatial relationships, massing, light, and how the home sits within the landscape. Early sketches and concepts allow me to test possibilities and refine direction—balancing creativity with practicality. The goal is not just a design that works, but one that resonates.

Design Development

Once the direction is established, I deepen the design. Plans, elevations, and details are developed with greater precision. Materials, proportions, and key architectural elements are thoughtfully considered. I begin coordinating with consultants to ensure the design is both beautiful and buildable. This is where the project truly takes shape.

Documentation & Permitting

I prepare a comprehensive set of construction documents that bring the design to life. These drawings communicate the intent of the project clearly and thoroughly—to builders, consultants, and governing agencies. I guide the project through the permitting process, addressing requirements and navigating approvals on your behalf. My goal is to make a complex process feel seamless.

Collaboration & Construction

Architecture does not end when construction begins. I remain actively involved throughout the building process—collaborating with your contractor, answering questions, and ensuring the integrity of the design is maintained. Regular communication and site involvement help bring clarity to decisions as they arise. This phase is about stewardship—protecting the vision while adapting to real-world conditions.

Completion & Beyond

The final stage is more than a handoff—it’s the realization of something meaningful. I walk the project with you, ensuring every detail aligns with the original intent. Even after completion, I remain a resource as you settle into your home. Because great design isn’t just about how a space looks—it’s about how it lives over time.
